I recall this at the time, I watched the H.R. show when it aired, and this is just after i got really into the Pogues snd had seen them twice by this time, and for some reason what stood out to me was the way his teeth now seemed to be affecting the way Shane sang - and yes, Shane MacGowan was a GOOD singer - by sounding like your grandpa before he puts in his teeth… Now all I can think is, Shane was a guy who understood the things that drove him, and who listened to his inner voice alone, and tuned ALL ELSE OUT. It might not have looked pretty, but then, life isn’t really about being pretty - it’s certainly not about looking or seeming to be something you’re not - pleasing to the “minds” of those who can’t even get out of their own way. All the squares - who don’t get it and never will so they shouldn’t waste their time - who think Shane set a bad example or whatever should look at the Shane MacGowan catalog and tremble in their cluelessness & insignificance. This guy wrote new standards, and for whatever it’s worth, that’s Bob Dylan-level brilliance.

I saw Shane perform in a bar in Belfast. Now as you may know, religion is a sensitive issue here. Anyway, the bar was packed with both Catholics and Protestants, so what does Shane do? He plays all IRA rebel songs. This led to someone launching an ashtray at Shane's head, a direct hit. Still, he continued, until fights started in the crowd, then bouncers had to lift him down the back stairs and into a van. Great night! Legend 🇮🇪💚❤

Überraschenderweise bin ich in den letzten Wochen mit einem pünktlichen (Max.2min+) Re7 gefahren, mehrmals, es hat sich nicht viel verändert und die Strecke ist auch immerfort sehr Verspätung anfällig, aber von Rheine nach Krefeld im Abschnitt Solingen/Neuss ist die heutzutage doch öfters mal pünktlich als zu spät. Die Bahn kann zwar viel für die Verspätungen,aber auch nicht alles, wenn zugtechnik(bsp.Talent2) ausfällt, kann niemand was dafür. Höchstens Bombardier und deren Qualität… Tl.dr: Re7 mal öfters pünktlich, bei Technik Problemen nicht Technick fragen (Saturn refferenz) sondern bei Bombardier beschweren. Abgesehen davon meine ich gehört zu haben das in 1-3 Jahren die Strecke neu ausgeschrieben wird , kann mich aber auch vertun und es war eine andere Strecke

I love the Pogues, and I have nothing but empathy for Shane, who is a very distant relative. But every time I watch a late-stage video with him in it, I feel like I should turn myself in for abuse of the elderly.
